Joe Biden’s foreign and domestic policy disasters pile up, inflation ravages consumers, the southern border is a humanitarian disaster, and COVID-19 continues to cause unwarranted hysteria. Biden himself stumbles and gaffes his way through TV interviews and press briefings. As all this unfolds, former President Donald Trump and his supporters must be experiencing a level of schadenfreude so great as to be almost physically painful. Things in America appear to have gone so bad so quickly that it’s awful to think anyone would derive pleasure from witnessing it. But, of course, Trump and those who wanted to see him serve a second term were convinced Biden was going to destroy the country anyway. Why would they not enjoy watching the rest of the nation wake up to what they already knew?
