Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is quickly surpassing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as the most talked about politician in the media, aside from President Donald Trump, of course. While AOC’s press coverage is more of a comedic play, the likes of which Liberty Nation’s Jeff Charles covers in his weekly column, Minnesota’s freshman politician’s headlines are enough to chill the blood. Her latest anti-American rant attacks Christians and their “horrifying” pro-life beliefs.
The venue: House floor. The topic: abortion. The Somali-born refugee was up in arms over Christians trying to steal what she believes is a woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy.
She opened her speech with: “I rise today to defy the horrifying attacks happening against women’s reproductive rights all across this country.” She continued, “Religious fundamentalists are currently trying to manipulate state laws in order to impose their beliefs on an entire society, all with complete disregard for voices and the rights of American women.” Here she referred to the recent anti-abortion laws passed by Alabama and Georgia.
Omar’s tirade continued, claiming the “religious Right” does not care about children:
“Let’s just be honest, for the religious Right, this isn’t simply about their care or concern for life. If they cared about or were concerned about children, they would be concerned about the children that are being detained and those that are dying in camps across our borders, or the children who are languishing in hunger and facing homelessness.”
Pro-lifers are against abortion, but it’s the recent onslaught of full-term terminations that drives the recent attempts at stricter laws. Want to talk about harming innocent children? Omar should take a step back and look at all the babies being killed under the newest progressive movement.
She continued:
“This isn’t about religious morality or conviction because we’ve seen time and time again those that talk about their faith and want to push policies because of their faith are the ones that simply are caught with the hypocrisy of not living it out in their personal lives.”
Pushing policies, she says? What about her anti-Semantic comments and her claim that Israel has hypnotized the world? Or the way she insulted the American people with her “some people did something” comment regarding the 911 attack while, in the same breath, supporting the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group tied to terrorists.
“But when it comes to other people’s lives and other people’s choices, they want to talk about religion,” Omar said, wrapping up her speech. “This should outrage every single person. It certainly outrages me and we can no longer stand for it.”
Religious freedom is a constitutionally protected right. Is that not one of the reasons her family sought refuge in America? Omar conveniently forgets that Christians and Jews are also allowed to practice their religions. Larry Klayman, the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, filed a lawsuit asking the courts to deport Omar for various alleged charges including fraudulent refugee status, marriage fraud, and support of terrorist organizations. One can only hope the wheels of justice will lean in the right direction.
