UPDATE: President Trump has called for harsh punishment of the shooter:
“People who do this should get the death penalty … I think they should stiffen up laws and I think they should very much bring the death penalty to anybody who does a thing like this to innocent people.”
UPDATE: It is now being reported that at least eight people have been killed.

UPDATE: Social media feeds of the suspect, Robert Bowers, appear to contain a litany of anti-Semitic remarks and pictures.

At the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA, a lone gunman opened fire killing at least seven people and wounding many others. Multiple officers were dispatched after reports of gunfire and upon arrival were forced to use their vehicles as shields.
The as yet unnamed suspect has been apprehended and taken to the hospital to treat injuries. Early police reports state that the gunman yelled “All Jews must die!” as he began his rampage. Police dispatchers say that the gunman spoke on several occasions about killing Jews.
