Crime involving migrants seems to be growing by the day. While that fact alone is disturbing enough, it gets worse. As offenses continue to surge, the average perpetrator age falls.
Central Park Crime
An 11-year-old Venezuelan boy was arrested after he and a 17-year-old boy attacked a person on a Manhattan-bound train in Queens. They were found with a stolen phone and were arrested near the Roosevelt Hotel migrant shelter in Manhattan. The victim told the New York Post that the younger boy was the “primary aggressor.”
Robberies are becoming more frequent in New York City’s Central Park. Police have associated at least ten instances that have happened inside or along the south end of the park to a group of around 12 migrant boys or young men.
“At this point in time, we’re ready to call it, this is a migrant robbery pattern,” NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told reporters. “We think they’re responsible for most of them if not all of them.” He said the muggings are part of a pattern of migrants that work together in groups of eight and 12, as well as in pairs.
Robberies are up 200% in Central Park, and felony assaults have risen by about 43%. Major crimes are up by 46% compared to this time last year, according to NYPD information. So far this year, 30 robberies have been reported in the area – up from just 10 in 2023. According to ABC, half of the suspects who have been arrested are migrants.
Journalist Met with Hostility at Immigrant Facility
In New York City, Morgan McKay, a Fox News journalist was harassed by migrants while reporting outside an immigrant facility. Due to the Right to Shelter rules, immigrants staying at the Randall’s Island shelter had to leave. Upset by this, they decided to make camp right outside the facility. Apparently, when McKay tried to report on the situation, some of the undocumented took offense and “grew hostile,” grabbing at her phone and her person.
“We tried to be respectful and were waiting to film until they calmed down a bit so most of the interaction is not on camera,” the reporter said. “But after a few minutes, because of how hostile they became, we were forced to leave. This was right next to the Randall’s Island pedestrian bridge.”
House Report Uncovers Cracks in National Security
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody reacted after a House report found that nearly 100 illegal immigrants on the terror watchlist had been released into the US during the Biden administration. “Despite this obvious danger, the Biden-Harris administration has refused to communicate with the states about these aliens,” he told Fox News Digital. “This is absolutely unacceptable and we demand to know who is in Florida so that law enforcement here can do the job that Biden and Harris have refused to do.”
In a letter obtained by Fox News sent from Moody to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the AG said:
“Following the horrific attacks on our country on September 11, 2011, the 9/11 Commission made a number of findings and recommendations regarding how to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. Among those findings are (1) that ‘immigration … was not seen as a national security matter’ and (2) that law enforcement and national security agencies had a ‘weak system for processing and using’ available information and a ‘resistance to sharing information.’ It appears that, under your failed leadership, DHS has not taken those lessons to heart.”
