Forgive me for paying attention. But some utterances by the leftist media and chattering class must be called out. MSDNC’s Morning Joke Scarborough and his satraps are at it again. This time good old Joe and his pal Mike Barnicle have taken to maligning Rudy Giuliani on national television. Unable to hit the former New York City mayor on substance, they have chosen to inform the two people that still watch MSDNC that Giuliani has a drinking problem.
Rudy Giuliani was hired as an attorney last month to represent Mr. Trump in connection with the never-ending Russia probe headed up by Robert Mueller and his Democratic henchmen. Thus, Joe Scarborough (former R-FL) felt the need to ruminate about Rudy. “Everybody around Donald Trump said he [Giuliani] was drinking too much,” Scarborough mused. “Donald Trump suggested as much – that was two years ago.”
Not to be outdone, Barnicle Mike bellied up to the bar with, “…you wonder, are they just continuing this thing to keep us preoccupied with things that are going on in public, Giuliani talking about Donald Trump.”
“Things that are going public?” Like what? Like the Mueller, investigation has got nothing? Zero. Zilch. Zip. Like unemployment is at record lows? Like more blacks across America have less animus for the president and are re-thinking life on the Democratic plantation? Like millennials are leaving the Democrats in droves since 2016? To which of these things do you refer, Barnicle Mike?
Getting Down to Brass Tacks
Does the former mayor of NYC have a drinking problem? Who knows? Certainly not Joe and his groupies. On Friday several of us had occasion to stop by Trump International Hotel for a few drinks. While there, Rudy Giuliani entered the lobby with one other gentleman and strolled through that remarkably beautiful space. Rudy wasn’t staggering, and he didn’t even step up to the bar. Admittedly, one account, but at least it is an eye-witness report — whereas Morning Joke only has his nasty rumors and innuendo on which to fall back.
Considering President Trump has an aversion to alcohol, it’s unlikely he would hire a drunk to represent him in the most significant court case of his life. Mr. Giuliani may be old and may have lost a step, but he is in no way, shape, or form a fall-down drunk. A better reason for this folly is that Mr. Giuliani is the new whipping boy of the left and they just can’t get enough of tying him to the post and flailing away.
Sweet Old Joe Singing the Same Tune
Have these elite leftists gotten out of the backseat of their limos long enough to see what is going on in America or do their ivory towers have bars? One wonders. And when they are released from captivity, is it necessary to spread their idle gossip and rumors on TV? The self-styled “independent” Mr. Scarborough’s comments leave little doubt that he has become nothing more than a pathetic little man who has completely crossed over to the other side.
Thus, we might end with “Say it ain’t so Joe,” but that would be trite and an offense to Shoeless Joe Jackson. Morning Joe Scarborough needs another ending – one that would toss him off the airwaves due to his indefensible behavior and inane analysis of politics.
