Do you hear that? It is the sound of China and Russia laughing at the implosion of the West as politicians concentrate their energy on reciting the chief tenets of wokeology. As part of their public policymaking pursuits, elected officials and bureaucrats abandon common sense and eradicate their little gray cells to spotlight their wokeness. In the U.S., there are standard allusions to white people acting as the primary cause of racism, an unofficial declaration within the corridors of power and pillars of society. In Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Canada, it is official policy to declare that only white people are racist. But would it be racist to label an entire race as a bunch of bigots and xenophobes? That is 4D wokeness.
Canada’s 2021 Budget Goes Woke?
Ottawa recently unveiled its ultra-progressive and deficit-financed federal budget for 2021. The $101.4 billion in new spending was filled with leftist goodies designed to reshape Canada in a post-coronavirus economy, from greater childcare outlays to raising entitlement benefits. But while the Liberal government will need to defend its budget to the Conservatives and New Democrats, the common folk are raising their eyebrows regarding official anti-racist training materials for Global Affairs Canada, a department that manages the nation’s diplomatic and consular relations.
The documents, obtained by the Toronto Sun through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, are seemingly an upgrade from a few years ago when the government agency encouraged tolerance, acceptance, and accommodation. The new manuals are inspired by critical race theory, a pseudo-science that essentially states Western society is founded one and complicit in white supremacy, and the cure – more like a nostrum – is anti-racist thinking.
In what will perhaps induce never-ending laughter, the literature contains a pyramid highlighting socially unacceptable overt white supremacy (KKK, racist jokes, and neo-Nazis) and socially acceptable covert white supremacy. The latter is the punchline. According to Global Affairs Canada’s anti-racism training materials, these are some of the behaviors that cover white supremacy:
- Denial of racism and white privilege.
- Colorblindness.
- Not challenging racist jokes.
- Bootstrap theory.
- Assuming that good intentions are enough.
- Digital blackface.
- Thanksgiving.
On a societal level, these are a few of the characteristics of a white supremacy culture:
- Individualism.
- Objectivity.
- Worship of the written word.
- Perfectionism.
- Defensiveness.
If white Canadians are indifferent to race and believe in objectivity, they are engaging in white supremacy without even knowing it. If a white person practices perfection while denying that he or she is a racist, that individual is a white supremacist. Similar to leftists pontificating that gender is a social construct, the wokesters at Global Affairs Canada apply the same thinking to race. One of the “fact” components of the training materials states: “Race is a social and political construct, invented by scientists in the West, to support global positions of some groups as superior and others as inferior.”
It is not surprising to see the list of its “additional resources” includes blacklivesmatter.com and CNN.
Critical Race Theory in a Nutshell
As Liberty Nation‘s Mark Angelides recently explained, critical race theory (CRT) is the “othering” of people that “stretches the limits of reason to propose that a society can be unified when one part is oppressing the other. CRT breeds distrust, it fosters grievance, and it will, ultimately, lead to hate.” CRT is about assessing everything through the lens of racism, whether it is literature or legal documents that are unrelated to race. It can also be likened to a coping mechanism to assign blame for a non-white person’s problems, facilitating an environment where victimhood is a virtue and independence is sinful.
It is also a broader neo-Marxist philosophical campaign to dismantle Western society by painting everything emanating from the Age of Enlightenment as mendacious, iniquitous, and racist. No longer is it acceptable to champion the ideas that led to the abolition of slavery, equal justice for all, and enormous economic prosperity. People from the West must atone for past sins, even if they are not culpable in the slightest.
Since diplomats will be indoctrinated with this hogwash, what happens when they visit countries that were founded and are governed by non-white officials? Do these CRT and anti-racist principles apply to them as well? If a diplomat works with Zimbabwe or Venezuela, does he or she accept the supposition that the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) or the United Socialist Party engaging in black and Hispanic supremacy?
Is Justin Trudeau a White Supremacist?
Global Affairs Canada states that blackface is an unacceptable form of overt white supremacy. This is interesting because Prime Minister Trudeau was caught wearing both blackface and brownface. He neither resigned from public office nor faced any penalties. What happened? Nothing. But he might have been forgiven by the gatekeepers of allowable opinion because he says “peoplekind,” advocates leftist dogma, and condemns all institutions for their systemic racism. Any more years of this thinking in the Great White North, and many Canadians may hope to overdose on maple syrup, poutine, and losing seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
