Justice Democrats – a political action committee formed in 2017 by Democratic Socialists who wanted to replace centrists with far-left progressives – identifies as progressive and claims to be anti-racist, but curiously has ended up targeting people of color. In the words of “Squad” member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA): “We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.”
In the 2018 election, it succeeded in hijacking several Democratic seats for radical leftists by so-called primarying. Among them was the infamous Squad, who was scolded by President Donald Trump for hating America. Squad-leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) managed to get elected to Congress with only 15,000 votes.
Many of the centrist candidates that are targeted by the Justice Democrats happen to be people of color. The committee is backing primary challengers to Hispanic Caucus member Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) members Reps. William Lacy Clay (D-MO) and Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
CBC is outraged at what appears to be an attack on minority lawmakers. The caucus claims to have evidence that several other CBC lawmakers are being considered as targets in the primaries.
Justice Democrats denies that it is specifically targeting people of color and says that several of its candidates are black. Top CBC member Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) is not convinced: “We will have to, at some point, sit down and see: Is this something that is directed at members of the Congressional Black Caucus?”
The Racist Left
It is impossible to understand the radical left without a filter of race. Progressives do not see people as individuals, but reduce them entirely to skin color or other group identities. Therefore, when Trump tweeted the fact that ill-managed Baltimore has a rat infestation problem, progressives immediately thought he was talking about blacks. It seems they don’t hold African Americans in high regard.
Their neo-Marxist worldview is one of perpetual race war, which helps to explain Pressley’s statement that members of a minority group that do not fight for their own race should be dismissed and ousted.
Dividing the Nation
Democrats are starting to wake up to the tumor in their midst. First, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) scolded the Squad on Twitter, and now minority lawmakers are discovering that they are targeted for being too colorblind.
While they may seem sneaky and harmless, we should never forget that the progressives are the ideological grandchildren of the bloody French, Chinese, and Russian revolutions and other violent movements. An old conservative trope is that leftists eat their own. The liberals of yesteryear are considered the racist far-right of today, which Pelosi and former Vice President Joe Biden have bitterly experienced.
The Democratic Party is learning the hard way that it is under assault, not by Trump, but by its woke ideological children.
