Illegals at the Border: They Come Bearing Gifts

Disease, terrorists, and now IEDs are discovered at the border.

When the head of the FBI declares US terror threats are elevated and sees “blinking lights everywhere,” Americans should sit up and listen. Last week, FBI Director Christopher Wray made this unsettling statement while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. One might think such a warning would cause the Biden administration to shut down the vast flow of illegals flooding into the country in record numbers.

It did not.

Then came the news that Mexican authorities seized ten improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the border and, along with a Tucson border patrol agent, apprehended a man armed with “a loaded AK-47 rifle, two loaded AK magazines, loose rounds, and a handgun,” according to a Fox Digital report.

New Banner Illegal ImmigrationCustoms and Border Patrol (CBP) told Fox News’ Hillary Vaughn that they stumbled upon a Cartel turf war at a gap in fencing along the Arizona border in Pima County when the Mexican authorities found and seized the IEDs. Aside from explosives, what other gifts are illegals bringing into the US this holiday?

Illegals and the Gift That Keeps on Giving

What could be better for Christmas than an outbreak of Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF)? It turns out that three people have died in California out of five reported cases. Every infected patient came from Tecate, Mexico. RMSF is a tick-borne disease that causes a rash, headaches, and fever. It’s bacterial and can be treated with antibiotics if caught early. However, if not identified in time, it can be deadly.

According to the Southern Medical Association, “Illegal immigration may expose Americans to diseases that have been virtually eradicated but are highly contagious, as in the case of TB.” In an op-ed for the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Elizabeth Lee Vliet, MD, wrote about the “invisible ‘travelers’ carried into the US by a ‘tsunami of illegals,’” which include dengue fever, measles, malaria, and more. “A public health crisis, the likes of which I have not seen in my lifetime, is looming,” Vliet warned.

Even though these clarion calls for caution come from medical experts, leftists try to marginalize the many health issues brought into the US homeland from our southern border. For example, Politifact intoned, “So what outbreaks have been reported at the Border? Not many.” Not many? That hardly sounds promising.

A Little Bit of Terror With Your Egg Nog?

Then there’s the gift of terrorists slipping undetected into the US. As Liberty Nation noted in a September article, “… in Eagle Pass, TX, two Lebanese men and one Egyptian considered suspicious were detained. Department of Homeland Security has taken another 20 individuals into custody this week with “potential ties to terrorism.” We also pointed out that 659 known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) were taken into custody this year, which leads one to wonder how many KSTs are still out there.

It’s Christmas time, so while Americans are nestled all snug in their beds, southern California hospitals are collecting data on the five reported cases of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and CBP is on alert for IEDs and working to catch as many known or suspected terrorists as they can. These are hardly the gifts Americans want for Christmas this year.

Despite the dangers of a border as wide open as the mighty Mississippi, leftist lawmakers on Capitol Hill dug their heels in against clamping down on illegal crossings on Friday, Dec. 15. New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez spoke for his friends on the left in this post on X: “If @SenSchumer thinks he can send us home for the weekend, quietly cave to Republicans’ anti-immigrant demands while nobody is watching, and then ambush Democrats expecting us to vote yes with a smile, he is TERRIBLY MISTAKEN.”

The far left will never heed the warning signs from these three gifts illegal immigrants are bringing to the US this Christmas. Perhaps it would be best to focus on the precious gifts brought by the three wise men in the Christmas story, instead. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh – isn’t that a more comforting thought?
