Funny Business With Donor Dollars?
Protesting in this day and age is big business – and every business needs its insurance. For demonstrators, that is provided by organizations like the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF), which take donations from around the nation to pay for bail and other legal fees for anyone arrested doing the good work of civil disobedience. But there’s a problem; not all that money seems to be going to bail.
Liberty Nation’s Kelli Ballard wrote:
“The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) found itself in some hot water after happily tweeting about the $200,000 it spent bailing out protesters. That’s nearly a quarter million dollars, so what’s the problem? Well, they had also recently boasted about receiving more than $30 million in donations. So, what has the organization done with the rest of the money? Is it all just a big misunderstanding, or has there been some funny business with the donor dollars? Well, that’s the 2.8-million-dollar question.”
What to Watch For
This isn’t the first time a leftist organization that ostensibly exists only to help those less fortunate has failed to be entirely honest about its handling of donor funds – and it probably won’t be the last. In the short term, look for MFF to make a show of spending more money on bail – but don’t be surprised if you hear about another “for the protester” type organization falling into scandal.
Biden Propped up on Polls?
The popular polls show Joe Biden beating President Trump by a comfortable margin – but the popular polls are all conducted by the liberal media. Suffice to say they have an interest in making sure Biden wins, and there’s a good chance they’re playing with the polls so to get the result they want. But no amount of manipulated polling before even a single vote is cast can save a horrible candidate. Don’t believe that? Just ask Hillary Clinton. So, if it’s clear to everyone who pays attention that Joe Biden is a weak candidate, why try to prop him up in the first place?
Liberty Nation’s Joe Schaeffer has the answer:
“Democrats are looking for a reason to believe in Biden when the most basic eye test tells them he is shaping up to be a historically awful major party nominee. Seeing him way ahead in polls that they have learned not to trust after the bitter harvest of 2016 may provide a certain psychological comfort that is more important than actual hard numbers at the moment.”
What to Watch For
Denial. Latching on to the psychological comfort of believing in Biden is nothing but denial. Expect the Democrats and anti-Trumpers in every other camp to keep on fooling themselves about Biden. It’s that or accept that he has about as much chance of winning as he does of miraculously recovering from whatever mental fog has him so confused he doesn’t even know what office he’s running for. Is it possible? Yeah, probably. Is it likely? Um, no.
