Warren’s Disaster
With poor showings in both Iowa and New Hampshire, Senator Elizabeth Warren must surely be seeing the writing on the wall. The betting odds on her winning the nomination have slipped drastically, she is now a 50/1 longshot to get the backing of her party behind even Amy Klobuchar.
Liberty Nation’s Joe Schaeffer outlined Warren’s precarious position this week, writing:
Warren’s crushingly poor performance in New Hampshire may prove even more damaging, given that she represents neighboring Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate and is competing with Sanders for the progressive mantle in the race. It was thought that Vermonter Sanders lapping Bay Stater Warren in New England could provide some much-needed clarity in a Dem primary race that has yet to show defining features. But Minnesotan Klobuchar doubling up Warren in voting on her own turf calls her viability as a candidate into question.
Strategists handicapping New Hampshire foresaw Warren having no genuine path forward under such a scenario. “She must come in first or second. If she comes in third, her campaign is over,” Republican strategist Ryan Williams told The Boston Herald before voting started. “If you can’t come in first or second being the neighboring state senator from Massachusetts in New Hampshire, your argument is shot.”
What to Watch For
The media will start backing Amy Klobuchar with much the same enthusiasm they once shared for Warren. While the real race is between Biden, Sanders and Bloomberg, the intersectionally-distracted will continue to pump column inches, media posts, and even cash into a campaign that should really be hanging up its boots.
Bumbling Biden
Joe Biden must be scratching his head regarding a campaign that previously appeared ready to carry him all the way to the White House. From being the clear frontrunner in both national polling and betting odds, to fourth place in less than a month may seem shocking to some, but not to those who predicted his almost certain implosion.
As Liberty Nation’s Leesa K. Donner wrote:
Something is seriously wrong with Joe Biden. His inexplicable behaviors, which previously have included sniffing the hair of young ladies and forgetting the name of the president under which he served, now incorporate the baffling campaign strategy of verbally abusing potential voters.
As has been widely reported, Biden has been denigrating and demeaning voters with a plethora of insulting remarks. Even if these comments were made in jest, they demonstrate poor taste at best and a mean spirit at worst.

Lashing out at potential voters, somewhat creepy behavior, and a track record under Barack Obama that keeps coming back to bite him, Biden has a lot of obstacles in his way to try and regain his shot at the nomination. With rumors that Michael Bloomberg is considering Hillary Clinton for his running mate, it’s likely he is about to face his toughest challenge yet.
Without a big showing on Super Tuesday, the Biden campaign will be a dead duck.
What to Watch For
In a last-ditch attempt to win support, we can expect Biden to be going on the attack against his competitors. The argument seems to have shifted from who can beat Trump come election day to who can survive the blood bath of the primary season.

- Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar will be on every prime slot they can manage as the friendly media seeks to stop this being a Democratic Party contest between old white men.
