Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the 9/11 terror attacks, has joined up with the Democrats to bemoan and derail Gina Haspel’s nomination to lead the CIA; a move that surprises no one in the age of leftist desperation.
Mohammed, from his comfy perch in Gitmo, has petitioned a judge to be heard during Haspel’s senate confirmation hearing, claiming he has six paragraphs of damning information about his treatment by the CIA after his capture in 2003.
I kid you not.
One member of his legal team (attempting to override the death penalty), Marine Lieutenant Colonel Derek A. Poteet, has requested that Mohammed’s claims, now titled “Additional Facts, Law and Argument in Support,” should be available for review by the Senate Intelligence Committee. He also states, “I am not able to describe the information,” because the terrorist himself provided such damning intel.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is worried about Haspel taking over the reins of the super spy agency that has, in the past, used a technique called waterboarding to extract information from terrorists. Why? Because Haspel ran a black site prison in Thailand and used the waterboarding technique to extract intelligence on terrorist cells, activities, and future targets.
And then we have Senator Jon Tester, (D-MT) and four other Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA), Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) who feel the need to declassify all CIA information that Haspel may or may not have been a party to, as Harris says, “to allow for transparency to the people.”
Instead, perhaps we should transparently document treatment of the detainees at Gitmo; they are still alive and provided three hots and a cot, and have access to a top notch legal defense. And you can tell by recent images of Mohamed, this terrorist hasn’t missed one trip to the all you can Halala bar. Heck, Gitmo feeds detainees so well, they added treadmills. Yeah, poor babies.

The incessant whining from Democrats has not yet eclipsed the massive support from those boots on the ground soldiers and leaders in the intelligence community as 36 former CIA chiefs and lawmakers penned and signed a letter of endorsement, to be transparent and all, for the Senate Intelligence Committee. Harris, Feinstein, and Heinrich were subjected a torture of their own when they read that Haspel was, without dissent, “a critical asset for our nation at this time in our history… when our intelligence community is under significant pressure at home and abroad.”
Gina Haspel has calmly, professionally, and with great restraint and dignity, answered hours of ridiculous questions from senators who have no grasp of the trappings of war. She has served this country loyally, fiercely, and has put the safety of Americans before all others, as she vowed in her oath of service.
There’s an oath of secrecy too, by the way. The Senate Intelligence Committee are encouraged to shut their traps, read up on the agency, and stop putting any worth whatsoever on the words of the likes of Mohammed. And then confirm Gina Haspel. Americans will sleep better at night with her at the helm.
