California Attorney General Xavier Becerra enters 2019 jubilant over the success of his non-stop nuisance litigation against the policies of a president elected by the American people.
Becerra’s latest blatantly partisan legal endeavor is to join a group of 17 Democratic attorneys general to oppose a ruling by a Texas judge who declared Obamacare unconstitutional. But that is merely a drop in an ocean of legal briefs drawn up on the Golden State taxpayer’s dime as Becerra transparently seeks to stymie President Trump in court.
The Associated Press reports Becerra has “filed or joined” more than 100 briefs and other actions, including 45 lawsuits, against the Trump administration in a little over two years since he became the state’s AG.
Illegals’ Hammer
It goes without saying that serving the illegal aliens who reside in overwhelming numbers in California is more important to Becerra than actually working on behalf of the citizens of that state. A vast amount of Becerra’s litigiousness is related to immigration issues.
Becerra on Jan. 4 crowed that “as a result of the court order secured by California, more than 276,000 Dreamers have been able to renew their deferred action and work authorization under DACA,” according to the latest quarterly report. His office’s official statement reads more like a gloating political speech than the actions of the attorney general of the most populous state in the Union.
“While the Trump Administration keeps trying to crush our Dreamers’ hope for a better life, we continue to fight to defend their rights,” Becerra arrogantly snorts in the statement. “Our success in the courtroom means our colleagues, neighbors, classmates, and family members with DACA authorization may continue to live, work and succeed out of the shadows.”
Democrats could not win the White House by championing the cause of illegal aliens, so they have determined to “win” in the courts instead, and a number of leftist judges who have no regard for the will of the people are only too happy to comply.
War on America
Defending illegals is exactly what now-departed governor Jerry Brown had in mind when he decided to weaponize his state’s Department of Justice by appointing longtime Democratic congressman Becerra to the AG post immediately following Trump’s election in 2016.
“If you want to take on a forward-leaning state that is prepared to defend its rights and interests, then come at us,” Becerra taunted the new president-elect in Dec. 2016 after being appointed by Brown.
“He could become the face of the California resistance, that is a very popular idea in a lot of places, that California Democrats are going to be the vanguard of opposition to the Trump administration,” Roberto Suro, a professor at the University of Southern California, told NBC News at the time.
Becerra has more than lived up to the advance billing.
“He’s been very aggressive in leading California’s efforts to standing up to Trump,” Steven Maviglio, a Democratic strategist in Sacramento, told The Hill in January 2018. “Another day, another lawsuit.”
Yes, California Democrats have been this shameless and transparent about what they are up to here. Becerra has been so vigorous in his labors on behalf of illegal aliens in the state that an exasperated Republican assemblyman called on the Trump administration “to come to California to literally arrest and indict Xavier Becerra for breaking federal law.”
“He’s crossed the line. This is now a criminal defense,” Travis Allen, who unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2018, said of Becerra’s bullying threats against any businesses in the state willing to observe federal immigration laws.
Becerra is not just a supporter of unchecked illegal immigration. He actually has longstanding ties to a radical Chicano organization that wants to retake California for Mexico. The law is just another weapon for him to use in his fight to secure the invasion and conquest of an American state. Which by all accounts appears to be succeeding.
And Democrats across the nation are actually cheering him on as he furthers this foul campaign via one lawsuit after another. Outright defiance of the sovereign unity of the United States is hailed as brave “resistance” against a duly elected president. Yet Democrats dare call Trump a “divider.”
