Trans Candidate for Congress and the Biden Family Connection

To understand Joe’s devotion to the cause, one must go back further.

A Delaware state representative announced a bid on June 26 to become the first transgender member of Congress and immediately raised a staggering amount of cash to support that effort.  In doing so, transsexual female Sarah McBride has highlighted an affinity of the Blue Hen State’s leading figure, President Joe Biden — his longtime enthusiastic advocacy of an exotic agenda that developed long before the cause became fashionable among Democrats.

McBride, 32, has close personal ties to the Biden family. McBride served as a campaign volunteer for now-deceased Biden son Beau when he successfully ran for Delaware attorney general in 2006 and 2010. Doing the math, that means McBride was a Beau Biden campaign staffer at the age of 15.

Early Backers

Beau was a stalwart early supporter of transgender rights in Delaware. After the state legislature passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in May 2013, Beau urged the enactment of a transgender-rights law.

“I support providing protections from violence and discrimination based on gender identity and expression under Delaware law,” BuzzFeed News on June 3, 2013, quoted him as saying in a video. “I will work with our General Assembly to pass legislation that will provide such protections this year.”

Over the years, McBride became part of the Biden “family,” in the words of Joe, snagging a Biden Institute Visiting Fellowship and teaching an LGBTQ policy course for the organization in 2019.

In 2021, Joe Biden got McBride selected for the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee. “McBride is one of only 11 Democrats nationwide appointed by President Biden and the DNC Chair to serve on the party’s executive committee, which is also made up of party officials and regional representatives,” the website Blue Delaware reported.

The bulging financial war chest accumulated in a matter of days indicates powerful interests want McBride to become the first transgender elected official on Capitol Hill. McBride “raised $413,750 in the second quarter that ended June 30 – just five days after [he] publicly announced and legally filed [his] congressional campaign, according to a self-reported total. An official quarterly finance report has yet to be filed,” Delaware Business Times reported.

The local business news site revealed just how unusual that is. “The sum is more than current [US] Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester [D-DE] raised in the entire first quarter of 2023 and would put [McBride] in the top 125 House candidates in terms of fundraising this year, according to federal records.”

Big-box media outlets have scurried to provide fawning coverage, painting McBride’s Biden connections as the inspiration for Blue Collar Joe’s transgender activism. “McBride’s close ties with the Biden family date back over 15 years,” Politico cooed on July 4. As “the country sees a rise in anti-LGBTQ hate and extremism, Biden has leaned on McBride, calling [him] to discuss the current moment in American politics. Over time, [he] has helped turn one of the most devout Catholic presidents in US history into an unlikely champion of LGBTQ causes.”

This narrative of Biden as a cultural conservative who has seen the progressive light falls woefully short of explaining his enduring backing for transgenderism over the years. The now-shuttered Biden Foundation, which Joe created after leaving the vice presidency in January 2017, listed “ensuring LGBTQ equality” as one of its “five key policy areas,” and the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware similarly stresses the LGBTQ agenda as one of its core issues of interest.

Another Biden Family Friend

To understand why Joe Biden is so determined to promote transgenderism, one needs to go much further back than McBride in examining the “close family ties” that have shaped his long political career.

Did you know that Biden and his new wife Jill honeymooned behind the Iron Curtain? The odd trip was made at the behest of Tom Lantos, who later became a top staffer in Biden’s Senate office before embarking on a lengthy and controversial tenure as a California Democrat House member.

Lantos called the couple’s visit to then-communist Hungary a honeymoon, but Biden referred to it as “official business.” The salient point is that Lantos must have exerted enormous influence over Biden to get him to make such a trek in the first place, whatever the reason. The bizarre tale can be examined here.

When Lantos died in 2008, Biden gave an emotional eulogy, delivering “a moving tribute to Lantos,” Biden joked, “Tom didn’t really work for me, even when he actually worked on my staff. It was more like I worked for Tom.”

Lantos had another close personal friend: fellow Hungary-born progressive George Soros. When Soros testified before a House Banking Committee hearing in 1994 on his controversial investment practices, he was accompanied by Lantos, who robustly defended him.

“Soros even had a congressman along to introduce him,” a Tampa Bay Times article, dated April 15, 1994, related. “Rep. Tom Lantos, a friend who, like Soros, was born in Budapest, Hungary, lavishly praised the investor’s philanthropy. Contributions to Eastern European countries ‘run into hundreds of millions of dollars,’ said Lantos.”

Soros’ substantial funding has fueled the rise of the transgender agenda from outlier to mainstream in American politics today.

“The [transgender] bathroom debate [in America] started in California, where the Gay Straight Alliance Network (GSA), an organization based in Oakland, has been lobbying hard for transgender rights,” Kelly Riddell noted in a 2016 op-ed at The Washington Times. “The group is a ‘next-generation LGBTQ racial and gender justice organization that empowers … allied youth leaders to advocate, organize, and mobilize an intersectional movement,’ according to its website.”

“In 2013, Soros gave GSA $100,000,” Riddell observed. That would be the same year Beau Biden began pushing transgender legislation in Delaware.

Biden, Soros, Lantos.

And so what are we to make of this? From a 2008 homage to Lantos upon his death published by San Francisco LGBTQ publication The Bay Area Reporter:

“According to a statement from the National Transgender Advocacy Coalition, Lantos was the author and sponsor of the very first legislative language introduced into Congress that mentioned ‘gender identity’ in early 2000. It was a resolution that condemned human rights abuses internationally ‘on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.’”

Joe Biden’s close family friend Tom Lantos was a congressional transgenderism trailblazer 23 years ago. Joe Biden’s close family friend Sarah McBride is seeking to be a congressional transgenderism trailblazer in 2024. And George Soros’ son Alexander, recently handed the keys to Soros’ Open Society Foundation “philanthropic” money machine, “has now visited President Biden’s White House at least 20 times, records show,” Fox News reported July 5.

Connecting the dots provides a clearer picture of how transgenderism gained traction and prominence in the administration of Joe Biden.
