Nestled between a Hollywood movie set and a solar station, and flanked by thousands of acres owned by a wealthy New Mexico political family, sits Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch. And after the recent arrest and jailing of the man, with his damning little black book that lists contact information on inappropriately young women, a closer look at Epstein’s desert property is underway and eyebrows are arching.
Located in the unincorporated New Mexico community of Santa Fe County is Stanley, a quiet enclave of private self-sustaining individuals on large parcels of land. The intrusive technology of Big Brother has not quite penetrated this part of the desert speckled with scrub oak and tumbleweeds. Some believe it is the perfect hiding spot for Epstein and the nefarious deeds he is accused of committing.
Although not mentioned in the charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to engage in said offense, New Mexico is under the microscope as officials interview minors who allege they were abused at the Zorro Ranch.
And the good folks of Stanley wonder if Epstein is connected to and has coddled one of New Mexico’s oldest political dynasties: the King family.
Zorro Ranch
In 1993, Epstein bought nearly 8,000 acres from former Gov. Bruce King. Santa Fe County Assessor records from that year reflect the purchase was under Zorro Ranch Trust but was later transferred to Cypress Inc., a Virgin Islands LLC.
The ranch consists of a 57,420-square-foot main house with many outbuildings and is outfitted with a stable, paddocks, and pools, spas, and other enhancements. The property also includes state trust land leases — 1,244 acres listed as livestock-grazing lease contracts originating in 1997 and 1999 and now expired. Current leases are expected to expire in 2021, but no one can find any livestock that have been on the premises. This has locals suspicious because they don’t like grazing land tied up for no reason.
New Mexico Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richards is actively attempting to break the leases, stating:
“It is absolutely horrifying to discover that we have existing leases with an individual who has caused irreparable harm to so many women and girls.”
But good luck as the contracts are binding.
Grazing leases for invisible horses and cattle aren’t the only interesting aspect of the ranch. The King family owns nearly every acre surrounding Zorro Ranch – with a massive land mass on the northern boundary – where Hollywood has filmed numerous western movies, including 1985’s Silverado. The land was then purchased by fashion designer Tom Ford, also noted on the pages of Epstein’s black book.
To be fair, there are lots of names in Epstein’s captain’s log, and he did spread about a small bit of money. Between 1990 and 2004, Epstein donated $139,000 to Democrats and $18,000 to Republicans. And he flung a smattering of shekels to politicians in New Mexico – a location where he was not required to register as a sex offender. Initially, he was listed. But within 30 days of Epstein being registered, the state government took him off the registry. According to a report, it is possible his attorneys may have had the leeway to pick which girl he made admissions about, they selected the Florida victim who was 17 years old. That is the age of consent in the Land of Enchantment, so he did not have to be listed on the registry.
Money or Sex
The private acreage insulated by massive tracts of privately owned land had been rumored to be a feeder to Epstein’s fortune through hosting illegal drilling and fracking sites.
After looking at images of the property taken in 2018, Stan Mobley, technical chief inspector for a large oil and gas producer, put that rumor to bed: “In my opinion the image in question could be a lined frac pond but, without multiple wells in the IMMEDIATE area, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense.”
Mobley claims that although the source of Epstein’s hefty bank accounts is somewhat of a mystery, “the creep isn’t making any money illegally by fracking or drilling in New Mexico.”
America awaits as the reputations of the elite hang in the balance. Republicans, Democrats, royalty, and scions of industry, entertainment, and fashion elites worldwide wait with bated breath for the next healthy dose of too much information to hit the airwaves.
For now, let’s hope that Epstein stays healthy enough to rat out his enablers and expose an establishment that, if he’s guilty, allowed him and his coterie to roam rogue because of money, power, and influence. So keep watch on the unfolding details in the Land of Enchantment. There is more than meets the eye in the high desert.
