Don’t Trust Gingrich!
Monday, August 9th, 2010Will conservatives, desperate for a White House coup in 2012, be duped again? This excellent exposition of Newt Gingrich from the Campaign for Liberty is a must-read. Gingrich looks good and smells good on the surface, but when the onion is peeled back, the stench is overwhelming.
“American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt bath utterly lost its savor: wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth.”

Taliban Murders Six American Missionairies
Sunday, August 8th, 2010Six Americans and several others from the International Assistance Mission have been murdered in Afghanistan for “spying” and “preaching Christianity”. The organization has been performing charitable work in the region for decades, and assists 250,000 Afghans every year with health care needs.
After almost nine years of war, an extreme wing of the false religion of islam still wreaks havoc in the nation. And most America yawns as the muslims build their conquering ivory-tower mosque at ground zero in lower Manhattan, set to open 9/11/11.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
John 15:18
Endowed by Our Creator
Sunday, July 4th, 2010Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. … Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.
John Hancock
How many Americans on July 4th realize that their rights and in fact their very existence come from the Lord Jesus Christ? How many Americans today worship the state as if the government is the grantor of our rights? How many Americans are willing to sell their birthright for a mess of convenient pottage?
The worship and adoration of the recent passing of West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd demonstrates this pervasive and dangerous attitude in our culture. A woman in Charleston was heard saying “what will our state do without him?” Maybe a more appropriate question would be what would the state, or for that matter the nation, do without God’s blessings? Our welfare should never depend upon the good graces of our elected servants.
Upon George Washington’s inauguration, he had his Bible open to Deuteronomy chapter 28, which is God’s promises of blessings and cursings to the nation of Israel. (The cursings for disobedience far outnumber the blessings for obedience). He certainly wasn’t looking for national salvation to emanate from its elected leaders or science or popular culture.
John Adams, in a letter to his wife Abigail, said the following about celebrating the nation’s independence:
The [second] day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever.
This Independence Day falls on a Sunday, yet how many pastors will preach these truths from their pulpits? How many pastors will preach (or do they even know) that the Lord Jesus Christ is our creator, our grantor of rights, our king, our redeemer, and our judge? Even John F. Kennedy knew enough to say in his inaugural address that our rights come from God, and not the generosity of the state.
National revival and reformation is needed for this nation to have any hope of survival – just as the Great Awakening was needed to give American courage to fight the War for Independence. Let it start in America’s pulpits, not in political movements or people worship.
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010Kagan: Government Has Unlimited Power
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010During confirmation hearings, Senator Tom Coburn nailed Supreme Court nominee Elena Kegan with a zinger about the Commerce Clause in the U.S. Constitution. Realizing that Coburn was subtly referring to recently passed Health Care reform, in which American will be forced to health insurance, she couldn’t answer his question directly. Instead she mocked him and sidestepped the question.
The commerce clause {Article 1 Section 8} language reads:
Congress shall have power…to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states.
A cursory reading of the Federalist Papers and a basic understanding of 18th century economics makes it clear that the founders were referring to interstate tariff disputes, and in no way gives the federal government carte blanche authority to regulate anything it darn well pleases. If that were the case, why have a constitution in the first place?
Kagan is an elitist tyrant, which makes her the perfect pick for the Obama administration.
In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man – but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.

Christian Persecution in Muslim-controlled Dearborn
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010If you have any travel plans to Dearborn, Michigan, beware that the area is apparently under islamic Shari’a Law. Dearborn, birthplace of the American automobile, contains the most dense population of muslims in the United States.
Recently, Christian missionaries for arrested for the heinous crime of handing out Christian literature in a public area during a muslim festival. By amazing coincidence, the Dearborn chief of police is an Arab. The police used the nebulous “breeching the peace” as a criminal charge. Standing passively in a public place and distributing literature is a first-amendment right in America. Imagine the outrage if La Raza protesters in Arizona we charged with “breeching the peace” as they rallied for lawlessness. ”Breeching the peace” is a convenient sledgehammer in the arsenal of law enforcement as politically incorrect speech is silenced.
Fortunately, the group is being defended by the Christian-based Thomas Moore Law Center, and the case will doubtless reach the federal judiciary. However, one must wonder if the United States will follow in the footsteps of Great Britain, where Shari’a Law is literally practiced on a micro scale in small communities? Islam has traditionally conquered by the sword. However, in America, they have found greater success through taking advantage of our secular and politically correct culture.

Libertarians Bashing Memorial Day
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
Proverbs 22:28
On a normally reasonable website, Lew Rockwell today has a disappointing post lamenting the celebration of Memorial Day. Furthermore, the author offers the sophomoric suggestion of celebrating the last Monday in May by watching (mostly) vulgar, leftist, and godless anti-war movies. This type of nonsense accomplishes nothing except needlessly offending people.
Is it not possible to debate U.S. foreign policy without disparaging the memories of dead veterans? This is not academic. There are real families who have lost real family members in war – some of very recently. There are real families who have real family members currently serving in war zones right now. It”s not as if the average American soldier is bloodthirsty mercenary who enjoys killing and looting for pay.
Would Mr. Shaffer have the courage to spew his vitriol in the face of parents who have lost a son in Iraq or Afghanistan? Since the specter of parades and wreath-laying is too repulsive for him, maybe he should take a bullhorn down his local VFW today and let loose a tirade about excess American imperialism. It is a sad indictment when the leftist Huffington Post is more respectful of Memorial Day than Lew Rockwell – or the U.S. President for that matter.
Ron Paul Cozies Up to the Sodomites
Monday, May 31st, 2010
In a sad but predictable move, Congressman Ron Paul let his libertarian colors ooze out as voted to repeal the Don”t Ask Don”t Tell policy of the U.S. military. His so-called rationale is stated below:
“I have received several calls and visits from constituents who, in spite of the heavy investment in their training, have been forced out of the military simply because they were discovered to be homosexual,” Paul said Friday. “To me, this seems like an awful waste. Personal behavior that is disruptive should be subject to military discipline regardless of whether the individual is heterosexual or homosexual. But to discharge an otherwise well-trained, professional, and highly skilled member of the military for these reasons is unfortunate and makes no financial sense.”
This is what happens when one”s worldview is based on the autonomy of man vs. the sovereignty of God. Ron Paul happens to be right on many issues, but falls short on acknowledging God and His Law as the sole source of our liberties. The issue has nothing to do with “how good” of a soldier a homosexual may be. The military is not a social experiment – and there is no moral justification for subjecting the average solider to potential rape, sexual harassment, or worse.
In fact the moral stance on this issue was well articulated by Sir William Blackstone, whose writings formed the foundation of the U.S. legal system. He advocated a more human punishment of hanging rather than burning to death homosexuals. Also note how General George Washington dealt with a homosexual in his military, referring to the crime of sodomy with terms like abhorrence and detestation.
Libertarianism need not exclude God”s Law. In fact without it, such a system would quickly collapse into anarchy and tyranny. Ron Paul and his son would do well to learn this. Studying our first President would be a great first step.
It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.

FEMA thugs: No Christian Clothing Allowed
Monday, May 31st, 2010Church volunteers are great to have for volunteer work after a tornado – unless of course they have to audacity to wear those dreaded Christian tee-shirts. In that case, a FEMA videographer will ask you to remove the offensive clothing. The FEMA brass of course did the obligatory mea culpa after the damage was done. Would FEMA ask muslim volunteers to remove their headscarves?

Seniors Allowed to Pray Before Meal – How Generous of Them!
Monday, May 31st, 2010In a remarkable display of arrogance coupled with ignorance, a senior citizens center in Georgia FORBADE the residents to pray in a communal group before meals. Why? Because the center receives federal funding.
We have been instructed…by the state regulatory agency that verbal prayer was not allowed at any senior center.
Not only do these bumbling bureaucrats not understand the first amendment, they have totally turned it on its head. Maybe it”s time for grandpa to get medieval with his cane?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
