In typical fashion, a recent media study shows that while 2/3 of media coverage regarding Easter this year was negative, 91% of media coverage regarding Earth Day was positive.

The resurrection of Christ is the central tenet of the Christian faith, while Earth Day is a bogus “holiday” based on paganism, evolution, and Marxism. To add insult to injury, president Obama acknowledged Earth Day, but did not officially acknowledge Easter – even though 83% of Americans identify as Christians. (He also never passes up a chance to acknowledge muslim holidays).

This nation is reaping what it has sewn. Will we heed the words of John Adams?

As the safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and blessing of Almighty God; and the national acknowledgment of this truth is not only an indispensable duty which the people owe to Him, but a duty whose natural influence is favorable to the promotion of that morality and piety, without which social happiness cannot exist, nor the blessings of a free government be enjoyed.

Prayers go out for Japan this day – for the victims, for their families, for the dangers still pending with nuclear reactors, for millions that are homeless and without water or power, for the nation’s economy to recover, for His protection over Christian missionaries. We pray that the Lord will use this to draw the people of Japan to Him. However most of all, we must pray that God’s will be done, and that ultimately His glory will be manifested through this event. The tragedy is not the earthquake/tsunami – the tragedy is humanity’s rebellion to a holy and just God, and the resulting sinful and fallen world in which we reside.

The reactions to things like this are a wide array of opinions and philosophies.

Agnostics will shake their fist and assert that God doesn’t exist.

Nominal believers will question why a loving God would let this happen.

Some sincere but misguided Christians will wonder what national sins Japan could have committed to warrant such a thing.

The U.S. government will violate the Constitution and throw our tax dollars towards Japan in the name of charity. [Art 1 Sec 8]

The environmentalists will blame the event on global warming. (this one is so insane it doesn’t warrant a response).

Some Americans will care more about the NCAA basketball tournaments in sports bars, and not give the event a second thought.

However, very few people will approach this from a Biblical worldview, as outlined in the passage from Daniel. As the book of Job outlines, God can and will do with as He pleases with His creation – without owing us an explanation. Jesus made it very clear in the gospel of Luke that carnage and disasters are not necessarily judgment for sin. In fact, He reminded his listeners that we are ALL in imminent danger of eternal death and destruction if we do not repent. Disaster can strike anywhere at anytime, as world history has shown. We must have faith that He is in control and then act accordingly. Otherwise we fall pray to worldly wisdom, which only leads down a path of further destruction.

Are we putting this into its proper perspective? Every day, there are 115,000 unborn children murdered in the womb across the world. In the U.S. alone, 100 people die in car accidents and 50 “born” people are victims of murder every day. Over 150,000 Christians are murdered every each year for their faith. This is a sinful and fallen world, bad things will happen as a result. EVERYBODY will face death, pain suffering are inevitable, and injustices will occur every minute. There is nothing we can do about these things, to believe that we can is capricious humanastic thinking. There are no ultimate government or technological solutions, only spiritual ones.

Either God causes disasters to happen, or allows them to happen. We don’t have direct revelation from Heaven, so speculation is futile. In either case, he is holy and just and righteous as history unfolds according to His sovereign design. What we do know is that thousands of people across the world die every hour and enter into everlasting judgement. This is the legacy of mankind. The real tragedy is our rebellion against God our own sinful condition, resulting in a fallen world ridden with suffering and death. If our only perspective is our own lifetime and world history, we are creatures most miserable indeed.

The good news for Christians is that we have an eternal perspective! This fallen world is not the end game. Our life is but a vapor – we are witnessing but the birth pangs of a glorious new Heaven and new Earth, where pain and suffering and death will be no more. God is gracious and sends mankind plenty of warnings that 1) we are not as important as we think we are, 2) He is in charge and not us, 3) this life is not all there is, 4) sin is a serious offense to God, and 5) there is eternal hope beyond this world in sacrificial death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us be charitable and pray for the people of Japan, yet at the same time keep things in their proper perspective and praise God – for His goodness and mercy endures forever.

The recent ruling by federal judge Roger Vinson striking down ObamaCare is unfortunately rare in modern day America.  Bemoaned by deranged leftists as “judicial activism run amok”, this ruling is anything but.

The brilliant 78-page ruling is replete with Constitutional citations, references to the Federalist papers, and quotes from the Founding Fathers. Beyond that – Judge Vinson gives great lessons in the principles of federalism, enumerated powers, and states’ rights. He cites tons of substantive precedent, reaching clear back to the earliest days of the federal courts.

He even throws a bone to the tea party movement by referencing the original Tea Party of 1773!

“It is difficult to imagine that a nation which began, at least in part, as the result of opposition to a British mandate giving the East India Company a monopoly and imposing a nominal tax on all tea sold in America would have set out to create a government with the power to force people to buy tea in the first place.”

Basically, this is the way a federal court ruling is SUPPOSED to read! Compare this to recent rulings that are based on feelings, platitudes, fabricated “rights”, and concerns about international laws. Beyond this, the case itself was brought about the correct way as more than half the states in the nation banded together to challenge this enormous federal power grab. (The states could have gone directly to the Supreme Court, however it will end up there anyway).

Unfortunately the fate of the federal healthcare disaster law will lie in the purview of nine justices of the Supreme Court – three of which border on marxist, one who should recuse herself, three who are conservative, and one who is a question mark. Fortunately, the U.S. House of Representatives can withhold funding and the states can refuse to uphold it regardless of the SCOTUS outcome.

Roger Vinson’s ruling should held up as canon in every law school in the United States and enshrined in federal courts around the country. This Reagan appointee is an example of the proper and constitutional functioning of  federal judiciary, versus the judicial activism of the recent few decades where the federal courts have created “law” out of thin air.

According to at least one federal judge, the Constitution still matters! Let us pray for more judges like Roger Vinson to permeate our nation, and more citizens to understand the importance of strict construction judges.

The dignity and stability of government in all its branches, the morals of the people, and every blessing of society depend so much upon an upright and skillful administration of justice, that the judicial power ought to be distinct from both the legislative and executive, and independent upon both, that so it may be a check upon both, and both should be checks upon that.

Progressives are getting desperate. They cannot deal with the absolutes of the Constitution, so they first resort to criticizing it. Barack Obama did this in 2001, saying the Constitution was fundamentally flawed because of its restraints on government.

After the 112th Congress opened its session with a historical reading of the Constitution on the House floor in January 2011, this really set the progressives over the edge. First, marxist propagandist and former Howard Dean campaigner Ezra Klein claimed that the Constitution was irrelevant and has no binding power!

(Does the First Amendment have any binding power on Klein’s right to write and speak lunacy?)

The third step was for several liberal legislators and the lamestream media accusing republicans and tea partiers of having a “constitution fetish“.  The word “fetish” has a couple of definitions.

1. An object regarded with awe as being the embodiment orhabitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.

2. Any object or nongenital part of the body that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation.

While the technical context of the criticism was the first, the obvious connotation was the second. Much like the tea partiers were labeled as “teabaggers” by the progressives (a repulsive act of homosexuals), now the Constitution itself has been derided and sexualized as pornography – an addictive vice that is worshiped, idolized, and causes arousal.

At the same time, progressives will defend real pornography as a sacred right protected by the very document they lampoon!

This is what happens when absolutes are thrown out the window – reality is subjective to the whims of those in power. The Constitution, much like the Bible, is chock-full of didactic and absolute language – “shall” and “shall not” – referring to the powers and limitations of the federal government. However, progressives and tyrants prefer feel-good dialectic and flexible language that appeals to our flesh and humanistic sinful nature. This how government health care becomes a “right”, homosexuals are allowed to serve in the military, and illegal immigrants become righteous victims deserving of mercy instead of law-breakers.

If anybody has a fetish, it is the progressives with their obsession of “salvation by the state”.  So-called democracy is their church, the media is the choir, and the IRS passes the collection plates (at the point of a gun). Some even get a thrill up their leg at the mere thought of a savior-President. Who has the fetish now?

With this crowd, every problem has a big-government solution, and anyone who dares to appeal to a higher authority to argue otherwise is dismissed with sophomoric insults. Yet the book of Ecclesiastes tells us that what is crooked cannot be made straight. (Eccl. 1:15). This fallen and sinful world cannot be “fixed” by the power of the state. The founders of America knew this, and crafted our brilliant Constitution because they understood human nature.

It’s not about fetishes, it’s about world view. It’s not about worshiping or deifying the Constitution, it’s about respect for absolutes and God’s authority over His creation. The only question is, are there enough Americans remaining that have a Biblical and Constitutional world view of absolutes to preserve this nation for future generations? Or will we allow those with big-government fetishes to trash our Constitution and turn us into a European-style secular and socialist state?

The American heritage of Thanksgiving of course hearkens back to 1620 and the Pilgrims. After a failed experiment in socialism, in which half the settlers died, governor William Bradford reverted to a Scriptural model of free enterprise – resulting in a flourishing and plentiful harvest! The resulting feast, shared with the Indians, was was praise and gratitude to Almighty God for his grace and blessings upon the Pilgrims. This is totally contrary to how this event is presented to school children today.

The first presidential proclamation in the history of America was Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1789. However, the holiday was only observed at the state levels until the Lincoln administration, during which another national proclamation was made after the battle of Gettysburg. In 1941, Congress established an official national holiday of Thanksgiving.

The origins of the Holiday, coupled with the presidential proclamations, are solid evidence of the Christian foundations of Thanksgiving.  The Word of God admonishes individuals and nations to offer praise and Thanksgiving to Him.  The Apostle Paul reminds us in the 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. The might prophecies of the Old and New Testaments remind us that the nations of the earth will be ruled under Christ’s rod of iron.

Therefore it is evident that Thanksgiving is not only a distinctly American holiday, it is more importantly a distinctively Christian holiday. Will patriotic Christian Americans allow history revisionists to destroy one more vestige of our heritage? Our will we stand up and courageously tell the truth and teach our children properly?

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the salaries of federal employees are double that of private sector counterparts.  Yet statist politicians and media elites gasp at the the thought of tax relief for American families.  They berate proponents of tax cuts with cries of  ”how can we afford it?”  Here is an example of “journalist” Christiane Amanpour arrogantly lecturing members of congress about how taxes need to be increased.

As if the government is entitled to our money, and we should crouch down and be grateful for what we’re allowed to keep.  Meanwhile, federal employees are living high on the hog, a substantial portion of them working in unconstitutional and unnecessary bureaucracies. The thought that the federal government should shrink to its constitutionally mandated levels, and six-figure salaried federal employees go out and get a real job producing something is apparently too much of a brain freeze for some people.

How many taxpayer dollars have spent by federal agencies doing statistical research studies justifying their own existence?

A real stimulus package to the U.S. economy would be to dismantle this federal leviathan and infuse that money into the private the sector. The economic explosion would be unprecedented.  The current path we are on is not sustainable – we are quickly becoming a nation where the wealthy elites work in government, and the citizens are becoming slaves being eaten alive by taxes and inflation. Meanwhile, national debt is in the trillions of dollars, our currency is being devalued, people are becoming increasingly dependent on government subsistence, and thousands of jobs are being outsourced daily to foreign countries.

The America of 2020 is poised to look more like communist China than the freedom-loving, free market United States that we have all come to know and love. As the snippy Ms. Amanpour continues to lecture us that we’re not paying enough taxes, maybe she will be the first to volunteer to contribute more of her paycheck to keep the scores of high-paid federal workers employed. If not, maybe she’ll stand in front of the tank in Times Square for us in 2020 as the politburo looks down from on high with hands out and guns drawn.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

What are details when radicals are trying to shove the green hoax down everyone’s throat?

Profits may be slim as the costs to own and maintain the vehicle are slightly higher than normal – considering the high price tag coupled with the charging unit.  Obama’s social engineers have tried to bribe consumers with a $7500 tax subsidy to “go green” (even though they won’t being green, coal must be burned 50% of the time to charge the stupid thing).

Of course Government Motors has the flexibility, unlike real companies, to subsidize itself with taxpayer dollars.

As the once great GM has been morphed into the bureaucratic-industrial complex that Dwight Eisenhower sort of warned us about, we can all feel giddy about going green – while the Constitution is further shredded as the socialist state lies to us about how wonderful it is. Heil Gaia!

Yes us peasants should just sit down and shut up, and allow the “smart” people to run our lives solve the world’s complex problems. In fact, we should just repeal the Declaration of Independence and revert back to a British monarchy!  This would actually please the Economist crowd, as they laud the “magnificent exception of Britain’s constitutional monarchy”. (Yes that system worked out well for the American colonists who were murdered, tyrannized, and taxed to death under the boot of King George).

The truth is, European and American “progressives” have nothing but utter disdain for the absolute truths of the Constitution, and the Word of God upon which it was built. Like any tyrant wannabe, they despise the limitations placed on government and the common-law liberties given to the people. The idea of transcendental God-given inalienable rights is a complete anathema to them. One shudders to think what kind of governing document would emerge from a convention of this motley crew – no doubt it would give absolute power to the state, and privileges to the people.  Regarding the Constitution, then senator Obama derided the American Founders for their ignorance in creating a “charter of negative liberties” that dares to place limitations on the state.

The globalist elites cannot defeat the foundations of America on principle, so they resort to ad hominem attacks and sophomoric parody. The founders of America recognized the fallen and sinful nature of man, and accordingly crafted a limited government with separation of powers as a safeguard against tyranny.  In contrast, progressives believe in the inherent “goodness” of man and power of the state to create utopia on earth through central planning.   So-called progressive thinking is from the pit of Hell, as it is nothing more than the same two lies told by Satan in the Garden of Eden – God’s revelation to us is not true, and we can in fact become our own gods. How has that plan worked throughout human history?

Thank you to the progressive globalists at the Economist for showing your true colors, this makes our job much easier.  And yes – according to the dictates of the Bible, we do owe fidelity to the Constitution as that is America’s “caesar”.  (We would gladly prefer that imperfect document to rule over us than one of you academic pinheads). While it may may true that the Founders could not have foreseen nuclear armament treaties, global telecom, international monetary complexities, and intrastate transportation and energy infrastructure – the existence of 21st century realities do not extinguish the eternal truths regarding human nature.  Our modern world certainly does not necessitate the burning of the founding documents of the United States – which has had the longest track record of sustained government, security, and prosperity in human history.

The founding principles of America are unchanged – we must honor God as a nation, maximize the decentralization of government, and maintain separation of powers to preserve liberty in a fallen world.  Otherwise, we fall under the yoke of tyranny as the last 6000 years as proven time and time again.  The Constitution can be amended when necessary, but only by the consent of the governed.  While that concept must surely annoy the globalists at the Economist, we American patriots will exercise our God-given rights to defend our Constitutional rights to the death if need be. The Second Amendment may an “antiquated concept”, but it is still very effective in practice.

Let every student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ – which is eternal life.

Sunday September 26th is American Muslim Day in New York City.  The above image is from last year’s event at Madison Avenue.
