Biden DHS is Funding a Broad Assault on Conservatives

Media Research Center blows the lid off the Biden administration’s most nefarious plot.

America is known as the land of the free and the home of the brave, but the first part of that description may already be history. The administration of Joe Biden – the man who, while running for the White House, pretended to be a uniter – has now come exceedingly close to effectively declaring war on half, or more, of the American people. A study from the Media Research Center (MRC) reveals that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is handing out money to various non-governmental organizations that are going after a wide spectrum of conservative news outlets, think tanks, rights groups, and Christian groups. Additional targets include the wider Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement and the Republican National Committee (RNC). The US is now in the first phase of the most pervasive disinformation campaign in its history. In a nutshell, these Biden administration-funded groups are branding conservatives and everyone else on the political right as Nazis, hate groups, and domestic terrorists.

The MRC report, “How Biden’s DHS is Weaponizing an Anti-Terror Program Against Christians, Conservatives & The GOP,” is a shocking exposé of the current administration’s increasingly obvious efforts, as the report puts it, “to make America into a one-party system.”

Conservatives Targeted

It all starts with the Targeted Violence & Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP), a Department of Homeland Security initiative that was created during the Obama administration. Since Biden took up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the TVTP has been dishing out grants to left-wing activist groups. These groups have one clear mission: to dehumanize, demonize, and silence conservatives and everyone else who opposes or even criticizes the administration.

Among the recipients of various grants are entities such as the University of Dayton’s PREVENTS-OH project, which claims to be fighting “domestic violence extremism and hate movements.” Another is Out Boulder County, an LGBT activist organization. According to the MRC report, TVTP has awarded eighty grants in all, totaling almost $40 million. Forty-eight percent of those have gone to these left-wing groups. DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas described the program as a “high priority.”

During a series of seminars run by the DHS and PREVENTS-OH, former President Donald Trump was compared to the 1970s Cambodian dictator Pol Pot, a Marxist who murdered more than a million of his own people. A featured speaker at some of these seminars is University of Cincinnati Research Fellow Michael Loadenthal. A self-proclaimed member of Antifa, Loadenthal’s Twitter feed is, to quote the MRC report, “rife with posts celebrating acts of left-wing violence (often against police officers).” During his presentations, Loadenthal admits, “a lot of things we’re doing are illegal … a lot of it involves breaking the law.” He calls for action to strip all conservatives of their freedom of speech: “To deny people that, to shut down their websites, to close their meetings, [and] to physically prevent them from assembling in public.” The report describes more of Loadenthal’s methods:

“Loadenthal also displayed infographic instructions to teach attendees how to ‘infiltrate’ social media platforms to ‘identify targets, create dossiers … surveil, interfere, misdirect [and] disrupt’ those the left opposes.”

The full MRC report contains copious amounts of evidence to support its premise in the form of documents it obtained from some of the organizations receiving DHS grants. The targets of these left-wing propaganda projects, as presented in a graphic titled “The Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization” range from the National Rifle Association, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), the Tea Party, and the Heritage Foundation to Fox News, Breitbart, Turning Point USA, and the American Conservative Union Foundation. The Pyramid graphic, used during the DHS-PREVENTS-OH seminars, also includes the symbols of various real or fictitious groups that claim to be neo-Nazi. The origins and sizes of these groups are hazy.

Nazis and Revisionist History

There is no credible evidence that any of these so-called neo-Nazi or white supremacist groups pose a serious threat but, more to the point, their inclusion in a graphic alongside PragerU, the Heritage Foundation, the RNC, and the MAGA movement perpetuates one of the most obscene reinterpretations of history. The ideology of fascism was created by two Italian socialists. There was no ideological departure from socialism – merely, fascism represented different means to the same end; an all-powerful central government with no political opposition and total control. In short, fascism was never a “right-wing” ideology but one that grew out of Marxist thinking. Other than a belief that the interests of one’s own country should come before the interests of any other, conservatives and fascists have nothing whatsoever in common. Thus, the neo-Nazi groups – not that any of them amount to much – are not far-right at all, but far-left.

New banner Liberty Nation Analysis 1What this all means, in the starkest terms, is that, according to the DHS, if you support Second Amendment rights, watch Fox News, read any of the most prominent conservative news sites, or are a devout Christian, you are likely a Nazi. If you protested the COVID vaccine and mask mandates, watch the Jewish Broadcasting Service, or donate to the RNC, you’re probably a domestic terrorist. You are also, by virtue of your conservative worldview, a member of a “hate group.” That is, in essence, a summation of what these left-wing groups are using DHS money to teach.

Sometimes, it is necessary to connect the dots even if doing so leads to uncomfortable or even sinister conclusions. Biden’s DHS is funneling money to groups dedicated to destroying everyone the left sees as a political enemy. Therefore, the federal administration has indeed been weaponized against conservatives and is striving to eliminate political freedom in America.

The implications cannot be avoided: Once a person or a group of people are labeled as Nazis, domestic terrorists, or a “hate group,” then any action taken against them can be justified. Those actions might include ostracization from regular society – what has become known as “cancel culture” – fabricated criminal allegations, physical violence or worse. When one side of the political divide determines that the other side is so disagreeable that the people on that side don’t deserve rights or fair treatment, very bad things will follow, as history has already taught us.

The modern progressive movement is widely seen as promoting a socialist philosophy. While that is true, it is worth recalling the words of Giovanni Gentile, a great admirer of Karl Marx and also one of fascism’s founders. Gentile wrote, “Fascism is a form of socialism, in fact, it is its most viable form.” It seems more and more as if Joe Biden and the progressives pulling the strings from behind his throne have taken those words to heart and decided that a more viable form of socialism is the way to go.
