Of course, the Gadsden flag is associated with the Tea Party movement, so it has to be outlawed by the statists.  The United Nations was founded my marxists, so of course they will fly that one proudly.  What else would we expect from a state which elects the likes of Chris Dodd?

It was bad enough that the National Association of Evangelicals officially supported amnesty for illegal aliens last year.  Now they are openly attending rallies which support illegal immigration!

Many Americans are unaware that the Constitution was changed recently – the presumption of innocence is gone, and has been replaced with media indictments. This is where the media sensationalizes a news story, paints the defendants in the worst light possible, and convicts them before a trial ever takes place. Therefore, the accused are guilty in the eyes of the American sheeple, who thrive on short attention spans and a consumerist entertainment mindset. Actual thinking requires far too much of an energy expenditure.

Nobody really thinks about the presumption of innocence until they (or someone they care about) is falsely accused of a crime. They are astounded that nobody believes their claims of innocence! The presumption of innocence is the legal concept that a defendant is presumed innocent, and that the burden of proof lies with the prosecution to produce sufficient evidence, in a fair and open trial, that proves the guilt of the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. Scholars disagree about where in the history of English/American jurisprudence this concept was first formulated, but its roots can be found in the Bible.

A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established.

God knows human nature better than we do, specifically our inherently evil essence – which is usually magnified by people in positions of power. That is why He put safeguards to prevent one person from leveling charges and judging the accused, lest a prosecutor of the state have ulterior motives besides seeking justice. (Ambitious prosecutors seeking higher elective office comes to mind). The presumption of innocence is not specifically embedded in the Constitution, however it is implied collectively by the 5th, 6th, and 14th amendments. Anyone who has watched Law and Order or even the O.J. Simpson murder trial knows that this philosophy is well entrenched in our legal system.

The media however is having a predictable field day with the Hutaree story – acting as judge, jury, and executioner before a jury is even convened. No evidence of a crime has been produced yet. What has been produced is weapons (not illegal), videos of training exercises (not illegal), and odd theological beliefs centered on a pseudo-Christian end-times cult. (If odd cults that spew hatred are illegal, Jeremiah Wright’s church should have raided 25 years ago).

Unfortunately for the Hutaree, they are outside of the mainstream of society – and therefore provide a useful scapegoat for bashing the tea party movement and Christianity over the head with a sledgehammer. The medias has no qualms about prefacing the group with the “Christian” label – hw often was the Fort Hood shooter referred to as a “Muslim”?  To the elites, the Hutaree and tea party fit the same convenient stereotype -every tea partier may as well live in a trailer with their secret stash of Bibles and guns.

For the record, there is nothing Christ-like (Christian) about the violent beliefs of Hutaree – the fact their website is drenching with Bible verses is irrelevant. There is no biblical admonition for Christians to engage in violence in anticipation of the Anti-Christ. If these nutballs are indeed found guilty of plotting terrorism and murder, they should be dealt with swiftly by the justice system. However, they must be afforded the same presumption of innocence that we would expect for our grandmother. Considering the fact that FBI informants have been previously caught red-handed infiltrating groups and plotting terrorism, we must be cautious before passing judgment from CNN sound bites.

It is beyond contempt for the media to try and capitalize on news stories like this in a weak attempt to legitimize DHS terrorist warnings about conservatives, or lend credence to the SPLC’s nebulous definition of “hate groups”. Do we say that all environmentalists desire to blow up SUV’s and sabotage loggers?

Part of our American birthright is religious liberty, owning firearms, living outside the mainstream, dissenting against the government, and being presumed innocent. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater because the agenda-driven media says so.

In his never-ending quest to “create and save” jobs while avenging social injustice on minorities, the President is imposing a 10% tax on tanning services across the U.S.  It stands to reason that only light-skinned people utilize such services in an effort to become darker skinned.

This provision of the health reform bill will shut down thousands of tanning salons and put thousands of people out of work.  Did liberal women who voted for Obama look forward to this kind of hope and change?
